06.05.2024 - The McAuliffe Story goes to print

It has taken around four years to collate and write up the story of the McAuliffe family, but at last it is at the printers ready for launch at the McAuliffe Gathering in Newmarket in a few weeks time.

03.04.2024 - McAuliffe Clan Gathering itinerary released

​

Friday 28th June: 

7.00pm  Gather together for the parade through Newmarket.

8.00pm:  Evening concert with local and guest musicians and singers.]

Saturday 29th June

11.00am:  Culturlaan opens for meeting place, dance lessons etc.

12 noon:  Bus tour departs.

3.00pm:  Launch of the new book The McAuliffe Story by Philip Taylor

8.00pm:  Rambling House session, stories, songs, tall tales and the craic.

Sunday 30th June

11.00am:  Culturlaan opens, followed by

12 noon:  Bus tour departs.

2.00pm:  Launch of the McAuliffe Story repeated.

4.00-6.00pm:  Irish duo Mason's Apron playing in Scanlon's Bar

Mason's Apron are Phil Taylor, author of The McAuliffe Story, and his singing daughter, Samatha Spencer who also plays fiddle, whistles, guitar and bodhran. 

7.00pm:  Formal Dinner and Dance in the Culturlaan. 

The election of the new Clan Chieftain will be announced during the evening.

07.01.2024 - Progress with the book

​

The new book The McAuliffe Story is progressing well. All the stories are in now, and we're up to around 32 pages of all things McAuliffe. Now is the laborios task of re-reads and editing. The book goes to printers in May of this year, and will be ready to launch at the 2024 Gathering in Newmarket.

2.30pm - Fun Irish language class for all ages

4.00pm - Irish dance classes for the beginner

7.00pm - Entertainment, Irish session
